Revenge is sweeter than Christmas @ 09:41 am

Current Mood: bitchy bitchy

It ain't gold. Not even white gold or platinum - just silver. The rock's real, though. And it better be worth what it took to get it.

Should have buried that shape-shifting slut. Use me for a scratching post? I don't think so.

This job better be worth the trouble. The Titans were mine to take down, and I do not like to lose. Hell, they WERE mine. Slade did the pick-up, but who leaked the where and when to catch 'em mask off and pants around ankles? That was me. And if that son-of-a-bitch hadn't gone soft, and his spawn hadn't decided to double-cross his old man by trying to be a big damn hero, those Titans would have been toast.

I'd BETTER get mine this time.

Current Mood: sick sick

Visitors who came to study with the Amazons and learn the ways of peace and study their knowlege of herbology brought the plague with them on the plane. They had picked it up in the airport on their way. By the time they reached Themyscira several of them had racking coughs and many had fevers.

They were taken immediately to Epione and the other healers. Before the day was out most of the Amazons were sick as well, though their more rugged physiology was letting them function better. Dispatches were sent to the parts of the island where sisters were off meditating or hunting and they were told not to return so that they would remain uninfected.

Epione had become a healer out of self interest. Not that she did not love and feel called to it once she had started her studies but she herself had suffered injuries in guarding Doom's Doorway that had left her unable to be a warrior anymore. She had decided that once she started studying it was Artemis' wisdom that had injured her and showed her the true path she was meant to walk.

She had worked tirelessly on the strangers and her sisters, doing all within her skills to make them well but nothing they tried seemed to work. Diana had managed to get word to them that it was a magical disease and that they were doing all they could to stem the source of the magic to effect a cure.

On the morning of the second day she fell ill.

She worked until she dropped on the fifth day and had to be carried to a bed to be tended herself.

On the edge of a coma she felt the brief sting of regret that she would not see the birth of the child she had helped to be conceived before succumbing to the darkness.

She never woke again.

There was much mourning in the house of healing but there was no time to wash her limbs and annoint her with the sacred oils and prepare her for her pyre. No one was sure how many people were going to join her in the end so the other healers continued on numb and feverish and did what they were born to do.

Help and heal.

Swimming and the long foot race belong the Mortals. And that little traitor Eros gave them Archery.

He has the wrestling and the short foot race.

Hades tells himself that the games are not over yet...and he has the worst in store...

Current Mood: accomplished

Things are not moving as quickly as I'd hoped to bring my Lyta home to me. However there is a delicate balance to these things and I am nothing if not a long term planner. Rushing into this affair could irreperable harm our chances of succeeding so I shall be patient. If only that damned Amazon had not defeated Medusa it wouldn't be necessary.

Those who know me would be surprised to see me planning to work for Lex Luthor, I am by nature a leader and do not bow my neck lightly to anyone. However he has the tools necessary to accomplish my designs so I am happy to let him take the lead.

Besides, I am immortal, he is not, eventually I shall end up with the threads to an empire if I so choose.
